Day Two

One of the most annoying things about going to the gym are the people who hog machines. Let me amend that statement. I don’t mind if the person is actually working out and resting between each set. What frustrates me to no end are the people who sit there and play on their phones for five minutes.

Dude! Are you here to workout or shop for rompers on Amazon? The fuck.

Okay that’s enough of the ranting. Day two of my journey to the Thousand Pound Club is chest/triceps.

Today’s Workout:
10      @ 55 LB Dumbbell Bench Press
8        @ 70 LB Dumbbell Bench Press
6        @ 80 LB Dumbbell Bench Press
3 X 4 @ 85 LB Dumbbell Bench Press
10      @ 50 LB Dumbbell Bench Press

10     @ 95 LB Incline Bench
8       @ 135 LB Incline Bench
3 X 3 @ 155 LB Incline Bench

3 X 8 Dips with 45 LB Weight

10 x 20 Pushups

The going is slow, but perseverance is the name of the game. For this week I’ll be doing single workouts in the afternoon, but starting next week I’ll be hitting the gym twice a day – once in the morning and once more in the afternoon. Since lifting weights is only half the battle, I’ll soon be adding my diet into these posts as well.

  1. I work out 3-4 days a week and texting whilst sitting on equipment seems to be a reflection of the lowering of politeness in society. I think the people who work in gyms could do more to remind the selfish members that other people may be waiting to use that piece of equipment.

I never rest on equipment but choose to complete 2-3 sets then move onto to another machine, thus keeping my intensity and heart rate up. Likewise, I try to be flexible in the exercises and routines that I use so if the piece of equipment I want to use is unavailable I can do something else rather than my 75-minute workout turn into 2+ hours. One of the reasons I exercise is to let go of stress, so I try not to get stressed when down the gym….but like you said some people would prefer playing with their phones rather than exercise. 🙁
